PowerShellGet Update

Our most-loved software repository www.powershellgallery.com and the tooling around it was some sort of quickshot in its initial release. Many issues are addresses in the new binery-module PowerShellGet 3.0 which is constantly updated and is currently on version 3.0 Preview release 11. Check out the engineering blog for some news and the next steps.

The early death of PSArm

Azure Resource Manager (ARM) is „the“ tool for deploying Azure Resources. Beneath ARm, Microsoft is developinng BiCeps, a more easy way to describe Azure Resources. The PowerShell teams has developed a wrapper around Biceps called PSArm. Recently we had an Expertslive Cafe around those topics.
Now, the PowerShell teams has announced that PSArm is now not longer under active development.

Update ! – SecretManagement 1.1

SecretManagement should be used by everyone to store secrets securely. Now ther eis an update to the very first version which handles the loading of extension modules differently. Read the engineering blog for more details.

Crescendo News

PowerShell Crescendo, an extension to use wrap PowerShell around commandline tools has evolved to version Preview.3. If you are interested in its development steps, check out the blog article from Jason Helmick.

PowerShell 7.2. Update (v7.2.0-preview.8)

Version 7.2 is approaching (i guess this year) and we are currently on preview 8. Read Travis Plunks updates on this version and give it a try.

Ok, that was A LOT of Powershellshell in this edition of the SnippetRace, hope you enjoyed it.

Until next week – Roman
